Bam!

As stated before I posted this, if you don’t understand the top panel references, it’s about the new Lonely Island video, as linked here.

If you don’t know the bottom two, it’s the exploding Creeper monster from the indie game, Minecraft.

I don’t even like this one anymore since I’ve been working on it for the last four days, but I already had the whole thing sketched, so I might as well not put it to waste. It couldn’t be any worse than 3.0 anyways. Right?

Fun fact: In between these two comics, I attempted to make an ongoing series of quickly made news related comics. I was using Flash to get clean lines and to easily duplicate frames (using Mall Monkeys as the example. P.S., I miss Mall Monkeys) and even finished a rough draft. As you can obviously tell, it never got off the ground, but the idea was always floating around.

And now you know.

Side note: Mark helped me with this one to figure out the best news story to go with. I had a total of three and settled on this one as per his suggestion.

Good weather has returned to Nova Scotia! Though, the painful irony is that it looks like it’s passed us now and we’re due for a week of crummy weather. Well poopy. If only I got this one out last Monday like my original plan was. Had the same problems making this one just like the last large size comic. I’ll leave it up to you to figure out why.

Nice to have another break, and I’m ready to get back on the ball with the comic. Monday updates start today!

P.S.: If you think I’ve run out of Beatles ideas … You’re right … For full comics anyways! Bwhahah.

I’m not going to lie, this is exactly what happened to me last night … And probably several other nights that I can’t recall. I have a Wiki problem.

Also not going to lie, when I get on a Wikipedia kick, I ALWAYS land somewhere around the Montreal Screwjob article, which I’ve read several times, but still fascinates me every time I read it.

I probably spent a good 3-4 hours for the past four nights trying to finish this. Worst part is, I started work on it the day after this comic. Drawing instruments and doing a lot of color work is hard. You can see some various stages at this post and later on the blog.

My love affair with The Beatles: Rock Band continues, so its no surprise to see me decked out in the Pepper again. Its true theres only a total of 45 on disc songs with only 1 downloadable so far, Abbey Road is downloadable on Tuesday. Excitement! Isn’t that the day of the NSCC teachers strike? Will I have band mates that day?

I also apologize if the “joke” isn’t completely obvious either, but this video from the game might solve a bit of the puzzle.

Original plan: Post this Monday, be in its normal black and white glory.
Revised plan: Realized the comic worked better with color, and with my recent adventures, decided to color, and release early because I’m so happy with it!

I haven’t put this much effort into a color comic in a LONG time, so it was a lot of fun (but a LOT more time, would have been shorter if it wasn’t for the stupid robots) to do again. Not sure if I’ll continue in color, but it was a fun experiment.

Don’t get the joke, or are you groaning so loud that you want to punch someone? Direct that hate towards this guy, king of obscure song clichés. He wanted to make the comic himself, asked for some of my template files and everything, and decided to give it to me. Well, shucks, thanks. Bet you didn’t expect me to put this much effort into it, though.

I’m starting to get back into my happy spot with the comic again, but I’ll keep making sketches at the blog as my therapy.
