While I take a small break (PS, I’ll return probably on the 15th), Mark has whipped up a comic. Cheers for new Mark comics!

Since last year, a total of 56 comics were done. Personally, I didn’t even think I would make it to 52, let alone exceed it. Though some stand out in my mind as personal favorites, what are yours? I want to know!

Now don’t look at this like I’m try to justify my thoughts on my favorites, but so I can find which comics stand out and I can use what worked in those comics in the future. I can’t improve if I don’t know what works and what doesn’t. This is less of a self-congratulatory pat on the back for myself and more of an evaluation from you to me.

With that in mind, pick 3 comics from the last year that stand out in one way or another, and I’ll compile a list of the best comics from last year. Don’t want to pick 3 because you can’t find a total of 3 that were that great, then don’t!

Personally, if I had to choose, I would pick PPLFROMIRL 3.0 again if I could, but that wasn’t last year (can you imagine it was actually 7 years ago this week that I started that, and 6 years when I started weekly last year?). Here, you can pick the 3 worst comics of the year, and this poll will be a reminder of what not to do in the future.

Now, I can think of well more than 3 myself, but I’m going to limit it at 3 regardless. I don’t think my self esteem could handle the harsh truth that probably 80% of the comics were crap last year.

This isn’t the first LOST comic (HOLY CRAP IT’S BEEN A YEAR SINCE THAT COMIC), and it won’t be the last. At least, not until the season ends.

If you don’t watch LOST; or haven’t seen the Season 6 premier, and you’re worried about spoilers, don’t be. None of this makes sense to those who’ve watched the show since the beginning.

There’s truth to both sides of this one! Dice was technically my grammar parole officer back in the day, and there was a news article today that headlined Twitter being the cause of poor grammar with students today.

The article went on to THEN talk about poor low level education, but not before throwing Facebook and Twitter under the bus. I guess if it makes a catchy headline, that’s all that matters, right?

Apple is having a press event this Wednesday which will more than likely (finally) unveil it’s new tablet device. Despite having no idea what the actual product does, people are are willing to fork down big money towards it. I barely do that with games, let alone devices that might range up to $1000. Yikes.

Fun fact: Got the rough idea for this one shortly before Mark moved out, but ended up filing it under rejected when I couldn’t make it work. Good thing I still have the ideas saved (or is it?).

I’m not going to lie, this is exactly what happened to me last night … And probably several other nights that I can’t recall. I have a Wiki problem.

Also not going to lie, when I get on a Wikipedia kick, I ALWAYS land somewhere around the Montreal Screwjob article, which I’ve read several times, but still fascinates me every time I read it.

Holy crap it’s a new comic! It was great having a a few weeks off, but it’s great to be back in the saddle.

This was a weird one to do. Since I was at my folks for the holidays, I didn’t have a great setup to work on this, so I was going to just draw it on paper like the old days. Then, because I couldn’t get my scanner working, I had to do it all digitally. The lines came out too straight in comparison to way back in the day (HOLY CRAP 7 YEARS SINCE THEN) but you get the idea.
